Mission

Protecting the Infrastructure That Powers Georgia

Utility worksites, substations, and infrastructure construction projects face a category of risk that private security is not equipped to address. These environments require officers with the authority, training, and accountability that comes only with sworn law enforcement status.

GridGuard Protective Services, LLC was established to serve this specific need — exclusively. We do not operate in commercial real estate, retail, or event security. Our focus is entirely on utility and infrastructure clients.

We operate under Georgia law, maintain all required licensing and insurance, and structure every engagement to meet the compliance expectations of utility owners, prime contractors, and public agencies.

Why Now

The threat environment for U.S. electrical infrastructure has escalated materially. The 2013 Metcalf sniper attack on a PG&E substation demonstrated the physical vulnerability of unguarded transmission infrastructure — prompting NERC to strengthen CIP-014 physical security standards. Coordinated substation attacks across North Carolina (December 2022) knocked tens of thousands offline and reinforced that substations remain soft targets.

Copper theft at utility and construction worksites has risen sharply as commodity prices climbed. Passive surveillance alone does not deter organized theft crews. Sworn officer presence does — and it creates the documented, defensible record that regulators and insurers now expect.

GridGuard is not a private security company. We are a law-enforcement staffing service that places sworn officers — active duty and retired — into infrastructure protection roles. This distinction carries legal, operational, and compliance significance for every client we serve.

1.

Law Enforcement Exclusively

GridGuard does not use private security guards, armed watchmen, or non-sworn contractors. Every officer assigned is a currently active or retired sworn law enforcement professional — full stop.

2.

Compliance First

Our programs are structured around the regulatory frameworks that govern the infrastructure sector. NERC CIP physical security, OSHA site safety, and utility owner security plans inform every engagement.

3.

Documentation Standards

Every shift produces professionally written documentation. Our incident reports, access logs, and daily activity reports meet the standards required for insurance claims, litigation, and regulatory audits.

4.

Client-Centered Operations

A single account manager handles scheduling, compliance documentation, and billing for every client. One point of contact. No call centers. No handoffs.

Leadership

Our Team

GridGuard is led by professionals with backgrounds in Georgia law enforcement and infrastructure security.
